Cindy McGowan, M.A., LPC

Cindy McGowan (She/Her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She received her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Manhattan College.Upon earning her Masters degree, she spent six years as an academic advisor in the Schools of Arts and Sciences at Manhattan College. There she helped students and parents make a successful academic and social transition to higher education.

More recently Ms. McGowan has been working as a school counselor for Catholic elementary schools in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. She has taught social emotional skills to students in various age ranges and developmental stages and is skilled at working in the individual and group setting. In addition she has worked collaboratively with parents, teachers and students in developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 plans.

Ms. McGowan specializes in working with children, adolescents and young adults. This includes helping young people navigate the struggles that often accompany ADHD, ASD, anxiety, grief and loss, and low self esteem.
