ATCB #: 08-128 – Board Certified Art Therapist
Rebecca Irmen is co-owner or ArtWell Therapy Center, a board-certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC) and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) who welcomes pre-teens, adolescents, and adults into a safe, non-judgmental space for healing. Her approach is deeply person-centered, which is just a professional way of saying she respects that you are the absolute expert on your own life, and she is here to honor your unique story, strengths, and goals.
By blending the creative, sometimes messy, and deeply healing nature of working with art with proven clinical frameworks, Rebecca provides an integrated therapeutic experience. She gently incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients master the art of reframing negative or unhelpful thoughts (because our brains can sometimes be unreliable narrators), alongside Narrative Therapy to empower them to re-author their lives and reclaim their personal agency. Together, these tools help process deep emotions when words decide to fail us.
Outside of her direct work with clients, Rebecca is passionate about nurturing the next generation of mental health professionals so they don’t have to figure it all out alone. Drawing on her experience as an ATR-BC and LCPC, she proudly provides clinical supervision for art therapy graduates and interns, offering warm, supportive, and practical mentorship to help emerging therapists grow into their unique clinical voices.
Outside of work, Rebecca balances family activities with creative hobbies. She spends her personal time supporting her children’s busy schedules—frequently serving as their dedicated chauffeur—and occasionally joining them for a round of Roblox. To unwind, she enjoys relaxing hobbies like baking fresh bread and cinnamon rolls, alongside precise needlework including crocheting and cross-stitching.
