Groups

We will start with a small group discussing the trials and tribulations that have emerged in the world around us. We will reflect on what has uplifted us this month, what has weighed us down, and explore ways to support ourselves through difficult times without succumbing to feelings of helplessness or hopelessness.

As we process we stitch, crochet, knit, or create with whatever medium which you are most comfortable. If you do not have a WIP (work in progress), for an extra fee I can provide a cross stitch pattern, material, and cross stitch hoop.

Acceptance of cuss words is a must. Towards the end of group we will have a showing of our work at ArtWell along our “hall of fame” for a period of time. This will allow our pride, values and messages to be seen by all. Revolution starts with the arts. Let’s go girls.

*$40/per 90 minute group session

*$10 one time fee for materials if a cross stitch project is needed

ArtWell’s Therapeutic Acting Skills: Practical social skills for the real world

Young adults will interact with each other through various means centered around theatre games and dramatic scenes. Led by Alex Wu, who has a degree in theatre and a background leading theatre camps for all ages, these activities will encourage our group members to interact with each other in controlled environments, boosting their social skills and awareness in public settings. Drama is one of the greatest tools to teach confidence and interactions in social settings. We recreate everyday interactions and practice behaviors that teach our members to understand different points of view.
